Check out the PTO's new "Volunteer Spotlight!" Without wonderful Volunteers, the Lunch Room and Library would not run as smoothly, teachers would have to spend countless hours making copies and cutting, and some students would never get the opportunity to read with an extra adult. The PTO, student and staff thank these wonderful Volunteers! If would like to help in the school, please contact PTO Vice-President Mackenzie Whitaker (mackennzie.c.whitaker@gmail.com or 614.565.2843)

November "Volunteer Spotlight"

Megan (and Lainey) Nussbaum

What Volunteer opportunities do you do?
I come in to do reading workshop with Mrs. Fuller’s 2nd grade class and Lainey and I do Lunch Room Duty.

What motivates you to Volunteer in the school?
I like to see the kids and Lainey likes to see her brothers! I like to help the school, support the teachers and staff and get to know that staff in an environment other than parent/teacher conferences.

Tell about an experience you had while Volunteering that made you realize you were making a difference.
I was in Lunch Room on Picture Day. One student exploded their Go-Gurt all over the student sitting next to them. We had an emergency clean-up! All was perfect for pictures after that!

Have you seen an impact on your child(ren) because you Volunteer in the school?
They like seeing Lainey and I during their school day! Especially Lainey!

What would you tell someone that is thinking about Volunteering in the school?
Definitely do it! Find a time that works for you and be apart of your child's day! Especially in the Lunch Room, you know you are needed. There has never been a time that I have left here and not felt like I did something to make a difference!
